Hello! Just an update on Life xD

Haven't been writing in a while, so here we gooooooo~

Life's been okay so far. Lots of decisions to make, surprisingly. But otherwise, everything's fine?

I've been feelin' a bit artsy-fartsy and all creative-like, but I never have the time to really indulge my creative side lately. It's kind of sad, y'know? Cuz I'm almost always occupied with IRL stuff, there's not enough time for other things. :(

So what have I been up to lately? Eh, not much. But we'll go through some things together, perhaps~

1. MOVIES

So yes -- a lot of good movies in 2017 so far! I've watched several in the past few weeks, and I've got 3 new favourite movies!

Power Rangers

Hey, I can hear you snickering back there! (=..=)ll Stop laughing!

It's a pretty darn good movie, let me tell you that!

I don't know about you guys, but I grew up with the Power Rangers series. My favourite ones were Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, and Power Rangers In Space.

I was always the Yellow Ranger (because I'm awesome), and yeah, I was super excited when I heard they're gonna revamp this series into a movie.

(Remaking old things into new movies seem to be the trend nowadays, huh? I guess movie-makers aren't as creative as before, kkkkhhhhh~)

Anyways -- what's not to love about this movie? The cast was perfect -- I like how the five rangers came in all shapes and sizes! Apparently this is the first movie ever to feature an autistic superhero, which is AWESOME~

I also absolutely LOVE their armour, doesn't look like cheap rubber suits like in the series xD;

Also Alpha and Zordon are amazing too! I didn't know Bryan Cranston was playing Zordon, so I was pleasantly surprised!

So yeah, go watch it. If you're a long-time fan like me, you'll definitely enjoy it (I think? Ehe~). And make sure to sit tight through the credits!

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Because why not throw in zombies, right? XD

I have heard of the book before, and have been looking for a copy since forever, but I couldn't get my hands on it just yet. I do have a copy of the prequel (which tells the story of how the Bennet sisters trained to become super awesome zombie killers that they are in PPZ), but I've stopped reading it for a while. I'll resume once I've actually finished reading PPZ itself.

The writing style is absolutely hilarious and I'd died laughing around 10 times each page! xD I can't wait to read PPZ itself aaaaaah

So, okay, this is not a book review, right, so I'll get back to the movie adaptation--

Yes, it is a movie adaptation (again! are movie-makers just lazy nowadays? -_-), and personally I think it's absolutely fantastic~

So for those of you who aren't familiar with Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, well, maybe go watch the 2005 movie of that first, maybe? It's fantastic, too, and Matthew McFadyen is just absolutely fantastic in that HEHEHE~

Basically, from sparknotes.com:

The Bennets have five unmarried daughters—from oldest to youngest, Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty, and Lydia—and Mrs. Bennet is desperate to see them all married.

In the real version, Elizabeth gets into this love/hate thing with this rich guy Mr Darcy. In PPZ, you have zombies thrown in the mix~

The Bennet sisters are amazing with swords and guns and stuff, and basically Mr Darcy fell for Lizzy because of her badassery xDDD

Overall, the movie is great, it's awesome -- except perhaps towards the end, it felt like things were being rushed to fit into a pretty cramped time frame of the movie? Yeah. At least for me, it felt that way.

The proposal scenes are super awesome, especially the first one -- I lived and breathed for that scene, really xD

Sam Riley and Lily James are amazing as Mr Darcy and Lizzy Bennet, and Matt Smith as Mr Collins is just -- pure gold omg (so if you're a DW fan, go watch PPZ!)

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

OMG. OMG OMG OMG. omgomgomgomgomg.

I didn't expect myself to really fall for this movie, but DAAAAMN it was REAAALLY good!

I have heard of a new adaptation and thought, eh, why not give it a try? It's got Jude Law in it, apparently.

And then I found out Charlie Hunnam plays the title character. It just kept getting better and better~~

So basically, came for Jude Law, stayed for Charlie Hunnam HAHAHHAHA----!!

Khhh but it's SO GOOOD!

I think in most King Arthur adaptations, it's all about finding out that Arthur is the one who can pull the sword from the stone, right? But in this one, we find out that Arthur is the rightful king pretty early on in the movie. The rest of the movie focuses on taking down Arthur's evil, power-hungry uncle, Vortigern, and on Arthur's journey to become king.

The story-telling is very witty and fast-paced and it's perfect, basically~

You also have to keep an open mind about the world it is set in, because the world-building is kind of rapid? Like if you question too many things, it'll just ruin the movie, I guess.

Jude Law is amazing as Vortigern, like, there is that quiet menace that you just cannot ignore and it's scary, which makes it absolutely brillliant.

Charlie Hunnam plays a nonchalant street thug and his character is basically based off of Conor McGregor and NO WONDER I KEPT THINKING, "Hey, this Arthur character kinda looks like that one UFC star" -- it's basically because he WAS based off of Conor McGregor kkhhh--

Anyway, yes. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is amazing. Go and watch it~

2. Music

Okay, this is lame, but I'm reminiscing again with The Beatles ^^;;

I had to make a trip down to Kuala Pilah the other day, and I went with my siblings. Basically the three of us have different music tastes, and I didn't want the car ride to be boring or irritating to any of us, really, so I decided to play only Beatles songs throughout the whole journey -- because that's basically the one thing that we could all agree on, since we grew up listening to The Beatles.

So, yeah. Been' listenin' to a lot of Beatles songs lately; been watchin' their interviews and stuff.

But man, was John Lennon a smart one. Watching those interviews, I kinda felt bad for the interviewers who didn't get their English humour and John's sarcasm. Take a look:

Learnt the chords to "Let It Be" because why not.

(But my sustain pedal is being a pain in the arse =..=ll been meaning to get that one serviced, but eh, couldn't seem to find the time. . . as usual...)

So yeah, that's it, really. Oh -- and I've been listening to King Arthur's soundtrack because it's awesome~ 8D

My favourite ones are "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" opening title, "The Born King," and "Growing Up Londinium."

3. Documentaries

I dunno about you, but I do enjoy watching documentaries on various subjects (except aliens, okay -- I hate those =..=). One of my favourite topics is North Korea. Like, anything about North Korean defectors or, y'know, whatever, really, I'm game.

So I don't know about you (again), but when I'm stuck in traffic, I like to just pull open a YouTube video and listen to the documentary as I drive.

The other day, I managed to watch one whole documentary on North Korea that lasted around 45 minutes. It's interesting -- here, lemme put it here if you're inetrested:

Inside North Korea

North Korea's Darkest Secrets

The first one focuses on Kim Jong Un, the current North Korean leader. The second one tells us that the North Korean people are definitely changing, albeit very slowly.

I also stumbled upon this short clip about Kim Han-Sol, the son of the late Kim Jong Nam who was assassinated in KLIA this year:

Kim Han-sol: A Future Leader of North Korea? | The New York Times

Is it possible for Kim Han-Sol to lead North Korea in the future? Personally, I don't think so, but. . . Yeah, hey, what do I know, huh? ^^;;

~*~

Okay! So that's it, basically~ That's all the update I have for now.

Feels nice to be writing again, even though it's not much ^^;;

Till next time (bila la tuuuuuuuu), BYE~~~~~

P/S: Also, you should totally check out "The Most Popular Girls in School" on YouTube -- it's got some very strong language though, so ye be warned! xD
